Heroscape Tournament

There are two formats we will alternate between each game of the tournament. The format we use in the first game will be decided by a coin flip.
Fog of War: All ranged attacks, auras, and abilities that require line of sight or clear sight spaces are reduced to 3.
Heat of Battle: Before the game, both players roll the D20; high roll may choose to place first or defer (meaning they place second).
Players alternate placing one card of their units on the board (a map's "start zones" are irrelevant for Heat of Battle). Squad figures must be placed next to another squad figure you placed that turn. You may not place figures on glyphs or adjacent to enemy figures. The player who places second automatically wins initiative Round 1.
What? A FIVE-ROUND, swiss, tournament. Each round will be 55-60 minutes.
When? July 26th, 2025, from 12:30-5:30 PM. Map setup starts at 11:30!
Where? A fun local game store: Atomic Empire (3400 Westgate Dr #14b, Durham, NC 27707)
Cost? $10 (which will be used for prize support).

If people could help by bringing a map, that would be wonderful. Please go to the heroscape.org page and use the "claim" feature if you can bring a map.
If you have a map you would like to suggest, you can post it here, and I will either approve or not approve the proposed map.

- If a game goes to time, we will use partial card scoring to determine the winner.
- We will follow OEAO's Comprehensive Treatise as well as refer to OEAO's ScapeCon Rulings thread for some corner case rulings.
- If you need to borrow figures, please ask in this thread or message me directly. Reasonable proxies and 3D prints are welcomed. Please reach out if I can be of help in any way!
- Please sign up ahead of time so that we can be sure to have enough tables and maps. We have enough space for up to 36 players.
- Airborne Elite and Rechets of Bogdan count towards Figure Number.
- Classic figures only: No VC or Marvel units allowed
