Have you just picked up the new edition of Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game and are looking to try it out? Are you looking to try one of the many new army lists in the new army books? Are you just looking to roll dice and have fun?

Summer 2025 League:

This will be a 10-game league with all games played at 500 points.

First time player?:

No worries! We have a friendly community that can help you get started! This league is especially designed for a player just starting out. Painted models are not required. Models should be fully assembled. Please contact the campaign administrator to inquire about loaner models.

Details for games:

Games will be played as 1 v 1 with 10 games in total, on a 4x4 board. No monsters will be permitted in list-building!

Each week, by Monday night, pairings and Missions will be announced for players each week. Players will bring their own army list each week, and may change it freely according to army construction rules. Missions will be taken from the 2018 MESBG Matched Play Guide unless other missions are released from Games Workshop. For players who do not have access to the Matched Play Guide, PDFs of the missions will be provided.

Tuesdays will be the official game night, but players can schedule on other days as needed to make up games. Players should report the results of each game to the campaign administrator.

Match results are due on Sunday at 6 pm; please contact the campaign administrator for exceptions. Missed games may be scored a 0-0 draw if not made up by 2 weeks of the scheduled date, or the end of the league.

Players must submit their faction before Week 1. If a player would like to switch their faction, they will be able to do so freely until game 4.

Table size will be 48x48 inches, unless otherwise specified by the scenario.

Schedule: Opponents for each week of the event will be arranged by the Campaign Administrator. Communication will be through the Atomic Discord.

There will be prizing for top 3 league points and best sportsmanship.

Game Size & Army construction:

Players are allowed to use up to 500 points, using the requirements detailed in the 2024 MESBG Rulebook. No monsters will be permitted!

Forge World units ARE allowed. Proxy Units ARE allowed (within reason). Painted armies are NOT required.

Army Lists must be taken from the Armies of the Lord of the Rings (2024), Armies of the Hobbit (2024), or the Armies of Arnor and Angmar PDF. In the event other supplements are released before the army change cutoff date (June 24), those armies will also be legal.

In addition, the following armies will be legal (using rules from the 2018 edition): Khand, Far Harad, Sharkey’s Rogues, The Shire, Khazad-Dum, Fiefdoms, Woses. Please contact the league administrator if you choose to use one of these armies.

When you sign up, please contact the league administrator with your preferred faction and side.
