Are you interested in an excellent combat game set within Middle Earth with miniatures, dice, and a great community? Welcome to the Atomic Empire MESBG Spring League 2024!
Spring 2024 League: The War for Middle Earth
Imagine an alternate story where the Free Peoples of Middle Earth were more cognizant of the rising presence of Sauron! In this league, the forces of Good and Evil will clash in an all-out war to prevent the rise of Mordor.
We will be playing an eight game series of battles where players are part of a coalition of good or evil armies. The results of one week gives one side momentum that will affect the course of the next week, including possibly point sizes, who the attacker is, or victory conditions! Each army will have a Named Character as a battle commander who MUST be included to lead your forces in battle (most weeks…) When you sign up, please contact the league administrator with your preferred faction and side, and your preferred battle commander. There is a date to change your faction or battle commander, but your side (Good vs. Evil) will need to stay the same. Who will win the War for Middle Earth?
First time player?
No worries! We have a friendly community that can help you get started.
Details for games:
Games will be played as 1 v 1 with 8 games in total. There are a couple of Bye weeks that can also be used for pickup games or catch up.
Each week, by Monday night, pairings and Missions will be announced for players each week. Some weeks will be specific missions, others will be pick-off from a particular pool. There will be a number of special rules and modifications to scenarios.
Tuesdays will be the official game night, but players can schedule on other days as needed to make up games.
Results are due on Sunday at 6 pm; please contact the campaign administrator for exceptions. Because this is a narrative campaign, making each game is strongly encouraged. Missed games may be called a draw between the armies, and the campaign administrator will determine how the miss affects momentum.
Players must maintain the same faction through the course of the league and that faction will be submitted before Week 1. If a player would like to switch their faction or battle commander, they will be able to do so starting at game 4.
Table size will be 48x48 inches, unless otherwise specified by the scenario.
Schedule:
Opponents for each week of the event will be arranged by the Campaign Administrator. Communication will be through the Atomic Empire Discord server.
Game 1- the Mustering of the Nations. The forces of Sauron and the Free Peoples stir themselves to war! Bring 3 commands, which may consist of multiple warbands. The first command is led by your battle commander, not to exceed 300 points. The second and third command are not to exceed 200 points each, and the entire army has a limit of 600 points. Your first command will start on the field, and commands 2 and 3 will join in the battle in later turns (hopefully…). Each battle winner will be determined by points, and whichever side has won the most battles will have momentum for week two.
Game Size & Army construction:
Army composition will be specified for each battle. Forge World units ARE allowed. Proxy Units ARE allowed (within reason).
When you sign up, please contact the league administrator with your preferred faction and side, and your preferred battle commander.
