Looking to create your own narrative within Middle Earth through miniatures and dice? Welcome to the Atomic Empire MESBG Battle Companies Winter League 2024!
Battle Companies is an expansion for the Middle-earth Strategy Battle Game that focuses on the deeds and development of a small warband comprising only a handful of warriors and the Hero who leads them. The low number of miniatures required to play makes it the perfect way for beginners to learn the game, but also for experienced Strategy Battle Game players to dabble in a new faction before growing it into a larger collection.

Schedule: Opponents for each week of the event will be arranged by the Campaign Administrator.
Prize Support:
Battle Companies is about leading a warband and watching individuals within it rise or fall. In an effort to keep that narrative as the focus of the league, we’re going to try something different.
At the end of the league, each participant will have the opportunity to tell their warband’s story. Players may write a brief featuring the lore behind their warband, and their exploits during this league. They may also create a display for the warband. All league participants will then vote for their favorite. The player with the most votes will be named Bard of Legend!
In addition to store credit prizes, every participant in the league will receive a painted MESBG miniature from me. You may either provide one of your own, or I will choose a model to paint for you from my collection.

- Games will be played as 1v1 with a goal of at least 10 games. Pairings and Missions will be announced for players by Monday night each week.
- Tuesdays will be the official game night, but players can schedule on other days as needed to make up games.
- Results are due on Sunday at 6 pm.
- Players must maintain the same faction through the course of the league and that faction will be submitted when players register.
- We will be using the Battle Companies Community Edition rules found here, with the following change to its progression rules:
- A model will roll for progression on a scale designed to quicken a Hero or Warrior’s rise to power!

Game Size & Army construction:
- One Battle Company chosen from the 38 available.
- Players start with green, inexperienced Battle Companies.
- 3 starting heroes (1 Might, Will and Fate each).
- Forge World units ARE allowed. Proxy Units ARE allowed (within reason).
- Table size will be 48x48 inches.

- Games 1, 2, and 3: January 9th
- Game 4, and 5: January 16th
- Game 6 and 7: January 23rd
- Open Play: January 30th
- Game 9: February 6th
- Game 10: February 13th
