Miniatures Painting Contest
Sunday, August 7th
2PM
- Quick links
- Registration
If your Spring hobby room cleanout hasn’t cleared your painting backlog; here’s an event for you!
This contest is open to anyone who paints miniatures for any game system. Final submissions are due on the same day as our Community Terrain Improvement Day, Sunday August 7 at 2pm. There are a few rules for this contest outlined below so be sure to read them before signing up.
First and foremost. Paint Something New!
Since we don’t want people entering models they painted years ago, we will require a single photo be sent to Bryan for each entry.
What I’m looking for is a selfie of you with the unpainted/uncompleted models you are entering (For example, you and the sprues, you and the built model, you and the built/primed model)
Note: it cannot be a photo of you and the box for the model. To be eligible to win this contest you must register via the link on this page AND send the aforementioned selfie to Bryan at byerswarhammer at gmail dot com
For this contest I want to stick to a single category so our entries aren’t stretched too thin. Your submission should be a multi-model unit of some sort; ideally 5 or more models. If the unit you wish to enter is run at fewer than 5 models just reach out to me for confirmation. If the models you want to paint are for something like an RPG then also reach out to me and we’ll figure out a good number.
If you wish to display your unit on a small diorama base, you may.
Your overall diorama/display should not exceed 12" x 12" x 12".
There is a limit of one entry per person. Each entry should be a small unit or collection of models. Cost is $10 per entry.
This event is starting now and final submissions will be due on August 7 at 2pm at the Community Terrain Day.
Final Entries are to be submitted in person at the store for in person judging and should be picked up later that day. Prizes will be awarded in the form of store credit. (Judging usually takes until 3:30 or 4 with prizes announced around 4:30.)
Prizes
Crowd Favorite
We’ll have a way day-of for anyone who walks into the store to vote on their favorite paint job for each category!
Best Overall
We’ll have a panel of judges who know how to paint (maybe some who do it professionally) take a look at each of the entries and decide which mini they think exhibits the art of miniature painting the best for each category!
If we have a significant number of entries I’ll create some more prize categories for things like conversions or staff pick or something.
