If your Spring hobby room cleanout hasn’t cleared your painting backlog; here’s an event for you!
This contest is open to anyone who paints miniatures for any game system. Final submissions are due on the same day as our Community Terrain Improvement Day Sunday May 22 at 2pm. There are a few rules for this contest outlined below so be sure to read them before signing up.
First and foremost. Paint Something New!
Since we don’t want people entering models they painted years ago, we will require a single photo be sent to Bryan for each entry.
What I’m looking for is a selfie of you with the unpainted/uncompleted model you are entering (For example, you and the sprues, you and the built model, you and the built/primed model)
Note: it cannot be a photo of you and the box for the model. To be eligible to win this contest you must register via the link on this page AND send the aforementioned selfie to Bryan at byerswarhammer at gmail dot com
Categories
“Small” Single Model - For this category I’m thinking of any single model which fits on a 50mm base or smaller; individual heroes for things like Star Wars Legion or Warhammer 40K/AoS, RPG Characters, etc.
Multi-Model Unit or “Large” Single Model - Any individual model on a 60mm base or larger (unless it’s something like a vehicle that has no base) OR a unit of multiple models (5 models minimum unless the unit can’t have 5 models). Large monsters for 40K/AoS, tanks for Legions/40K, big monsters for DnD, Squads of infantry for any of the games mentioned above or others.
If you are unsure what category the Miniature(s) you want to paint would fit into please feel free to reach out to me. If the second category gets a large number of entrants I will consider splitting it up so that multi-model units are judged separately from large individual models.
There is a limit of one entry per person per category. Each entry should be a single model or small unit. Cost is $10 per entry.
Final Entries are to be submitted in person at the store for in person judging and should be picked up later that day. Prizes will be awarded in the form of store credit.
Prizes
Crowd Favorite We’ll have a way day-of for anyone who walks into the store to vote on their favorite paint job for each category!
Best Overall
We’ll have a panel of judges who know how to paint (maybe some who do it professionally) take a look at each of the entries and decide which mini they think exhibits the art of miniature painting the best for each category!
