When: Monday nights from 5:30 to 11:00, November 8 through November 29. Feel free to organize league games outside of league nights, but Monday is the official in-store night.
Discord: All league information will be in the Atomic Empire Star Wars Minis Discord channel here.
Game play: Five games total over four weeks, two with generated pairings and three against any players you haven’t already played. Pairings will happen on the first night and be posted in the Discord channel. If you aren’t registered in time for pairings, don’t worry! Players can join at any time and will be able to count any games they play up to five for their final standings. You can play your games in any order you want, and there is no penalty for not playing all five games. Any unfinished games against paired opponents (if nobody concedes due to scheduling or other issues) will be a 5 versus 5 final salvo to determine the winner.
Rules: League will follow all the current official rules documents and points pdfs. In addition, while we wait for AMG’s rules update, we’ll play with as much of the future rules as we currently know. These will be replaced by anything that AMG publishes upon its release.
Format: Our primary format will be the Krayt Cup format, which consists of ships that have been re-released in X-Wing Second Edition with a few bans to the upgrade list. A builder is available here: https://chrisalleng.github.io/. If you'd like to do Hyperspace or Extended instead, please agree with your opponent before the game. If you can’t agree, randomly determine which format you play. If AMG changes the formats during the league, we’ll update this.
Player order: Randomly determine first player at the start of the game by one player rolling one attack die. If it is a hit or crit, the player who rolled is first player; if it is a focus or a blank, the other player is the first player.
Deficit scoring: Any points out of 200 that you have unspent, your opponent scores at the beginning of the game.
Round timing: Games are 75 minutes or 12 rounds, whichever comes first. If you and your opponent agree not to use the default 12-round counter, then your game will end at the completion of the turn during which the 75-minute timer ends.
Scoring: Points will be the current tournament scoring: 1 point for a win and 0 points for a loss. Players will report their game results and scores in a Google form, and standings (pinned in Discord) will update with all reported games by Friday of each week. One player needs to report the result of the game and points destroyed by each player. The final standings will be posted at the end of the league, and players can pick up prizes the following week.
Prizes: Prizes will consist of store credit, alternate art cards, and possibly additional third-party game accessories.
Registration: League registration is open throughout the month, but only players who are registered by the start of the league will get their assigned pairings. We are happy to have players join any time during the month! Play as many of the five games as you can against any other league player, and you’ll still be eligible for all the prizes.
**Note that league is now $20. This is an increase over previous leagues but is in line with other leagues at Atomic. Why the increase? Atomic Empire is committed to their staff and made large pay increases to help everyone have a sustainable lifestyle. Expenses have also increased while event prices have remained low for a long time. By raising the entry fees for events, the store ensures that the staff and community will continue to prosper. So, while we pay a little more than we used to, your choice to support the best local game store around helps Atomic support its people in return.
Registration fee: $20.00
