Chuck is a fifty-something televangelist from Texas who has an incredible number of true believers hanging on his words. Chuck puts on shows worthy of a top-notch entertainer, performing miracles on people who are paraplegic, blind, etc. Robert is an aging New York cop who has spent his whole career in the inner city, fighting it out with very down-to-earth cases; he lives with Louise, a woman sick with cancer. Robert is assigned the job of his life, to nab Chuck for fraud.
