Makoto reveals to Kimi the gruesome details of Emi's death. The government are immediately concerned for Kimi and the other geisha's safety, and so they decide that they must learn to defend themselves. However, as they await to leave Gion and attend a martial arts training course, all the geisha cannot help feeling a slight sinking feeling about the shape of things to come.
